State of
Michigan selects Graphic Sciences, Inc. for Digital Conversion Services
Graphic Sciences, Inc. has been selected by the State of Michigan, Department
of Management and Budget to provide conversion services for departments
and agencies of State government that may have the need to convert paper
or microfilm based information to digital images. As the demand for digital
information systems has increased, the need to manage the conversion processes
became evident.
The State of Michigan, Department of Management and Budget solicited responses
from selected vendors to provide digital conversion services that may
be used by departments and agencies within the State who have a qualified
need for such services. The contract calls for the selected vendor to
be in a position to convert virtually any paper based document from a
note size page to a full size engineering drawing to standardized digital
images. Additionally, the selected vendor must be capable of converting
various microforms to digital images and be able to provide indexing services
for the images.
This is the first time the State has entered into a long-term agreement
with any supplier to provide these specific conversion services.
Based on the quality of the responses and the pricing offered to the State,
Graphic Sciences, Inc. was awarded the contract. The term of the contract
is three years with the possibility of two one-year extensions. In this
period of time it is believed that many State agencies and departments
will use the services offered in this contract and incorporate digital
imaging solutions as a part of their day-to-day business operations.
Graphic Sciences, Inc. is a Royal Oak based company that has served the
information and image management industry for over a quarter of a century.
