Scan on Demand Document Service Scan on Demand is an efficient and cost effective document service offered by Graphic Sciences, Inc., a leader in document management solutions. It is targeted for clients who want the efficiency of digital records but who don't want to make the investment to have all their records converted from paper or film to digital images. GSI locates the correct record, then scans it, indexes it and sends it electronically to the client. Once scanned, it will never need to be scanned again as it becomes part of the client's digital database. The client pays only for those records that are actually scanned. Customers save money on storage space also, since the records are removed from their location and stored by GSI. The service is appropriate for records that do not have to be available instantaneously and turnaround time is negotiated with each client based on individual requirements. Colton has found that the time it takes GSI to locate, scan, index and to send the record to the client digitally is often faster than the time it took the client to locate and copy the records in the past.
